As you pull into Cherry Tree Avenue, you get the feeling you may have taken a wrong turning, but as you reach the bend you notice that you were correct. You see the giant letters of "WATERLOOVILLE GOLF CLUB" and you know you are there.
Being over 100 years old, Waterlooville offers a modern feel mixed with a touch of history. Designed by the great Henry Cotton, Waterlooville was founded when a group of men decided to form a golf club in the local area. Many years on, the course is now surrounded by a friendly community and a Motorway which links Portsmouth with London.
In the year of 2007, the course undertook £250,000 worth of major course improvements and the results are outstanding. John Hay, our professional and Director of Golf, supervised the major drainage project which now makes the course playable all year round. His team of green keepers, ably led by Head Greenkeeper Bob Good, now have the course in superb condition and an excellent challenge for golfers of all abilities.
The pro shop is a standard club shop stocked with all the latest equipment and accessories. There is the option for re-gripping, re-shafting and lessons with either the Head pro, John Hay or the assistant pro, Dave Hickman.
